Hokkaido has lots of capes because of its special geography.
Cape Soya, Erimo, Nosappu, Shakotan.......so Hokkaido is King of Cape!
Cape Chikiu is in Muroran, which has also interesting geographically as well as Hakodate.
It is a land-tied island and there is about 100m bluff.
You can see a wonderful view from there.
Chikiu is named after a Ainu word, Chikepu for bluff.
Cape Chikiu is also named Cape Chikyu(earth) after its view.
when you go to Cape Chikiu, you can also enjoy Muroran city, which flourished with steel industry.
I want to eat Muroran Yakitori, in fact which is pork!
Though I'm from Hokkaido, I haven't been to and even heard of Cape Chikiu...
